steamroller ethics

<p>We have been looking for a reputable whites appliance repairer /tecnician for a few weeks and were given a name to contact . </p> <p> I called Orca electrcal and a gentalman took my detail and told me i would get a confirmation by email .I informed him i had two dish washers and two washing machines that were falty and i wuold like them looked at band a quotation given befor work to fix them comenced in order that i may make shure i had the funds to repair them . I recieved the email and a few days later a man cam to my hame to have a look at the machines . my wife and i were not home but my mom called me and told us he was there . I asked her to let him have a look at them and i would be home shortly . </p> <p> when i got home the one dish washer had been striped and he was busy working on it . i asked what was happening and he said bhe had just fixed the machine and was puting it back together . He said wile he was waiting for us to arive he had found the falt and had fixed it were apon i nsaid i required a quot first befor the work was done . HE then informed me that the other machines he coud not fix at my home and had to be taken back to the work shop at a later stage . he the wrote out a invoice for the machine he had repaired for R 1000.00 and explained that the pump was blocked and he had unblocked the stopage and it woild be fine now . </p> <p> I was upset with the modis aperandi of this indavidual in that he had gone ahead and fixed the blockage with out first getting my concent and had charged me R 1000 for fifteen munutes work and no parts used w. while he was there i called his office tocomplain but the owner/ mandger was not available and wuold call me back . the tecnician was in a hurry to do his next call and said he had to go to the next call and the owner would call me and sort out the absorbatent price . no one called me back and later i called the office again but the recepcoinist told me the owner was in a meeting and she would give him my messages . Next day i had not had a call by mid day and called again but the owner and the person who has the decisions made was still in a meeting i got very upset with this situation and gave the phone to my wife whe spoke nicely to the lady but to no avile she said we were to pay the mount or she would hand us over . </p> <p> Till now no one has called us back to talk withe us </p> <p>I feel R 1000 for the unblocking of a water pipe by shving a hose pipe up the putlet pipe does not warent that amount of money </p> <p> mr columbus called back yesterday to say his bas said he was to come put anew pump in the machine and we had to then pay a exta R275 over and above the R 1000 my doctor and my wife who are both profesional people do not aske R 1000 for fifteen munites </p>
