*********** *****ulent staff at O.R.Tambo
Yesterday on Sunday, 05 November 2023, I arrived at O.R. International Airport around 5:30 A.M from Centurion. It was my first time going to the airport. I parked my car at the departure A drop off, left my brother in the driver seat of the car and assisted my family with their luggage and 2 year old child into the airport to take them to check in. We looked around to find where they should be and were told to go to terminal B departures, so we walked the distance and were held back because the flight was closed and were sent to the help desk. Around 6:00 A.M. I received a call from my brother where he said that my car is going to be clamped so the guard said I need to get there before he does that. I left immediately. Shortly after I received a call from the guard where he told me that I need to get there otherwise he'll clamp my car, in a panic I started running in the airport and got lost on the way, so I called the guard, D. Ravele, and told him that I was lost and if he could tell me where my car was, he said it is by the international parking. I went outside the airport and ran to my car, only to find that both tires were clamped while by brother was present in the car. As I approached the guard to explain what had happened, he rudely spoke over me and said that, "now, it's either he'll call the police to tow my car away or he can tell me where I should go to pay the fine." I asked him where I should go to pay it and all he said was to go to the parking management. I took my brother, got lost again and asked around for alot of assistance to get there. Once there I was told to draw out cash as card payment is not accepted, so I drew out the money and paid the fine, and got a receipt. After getting the receipt I was enquiring about the reason for the clamping because my car shouldn't have been clamped because there was a person present in the car. Many security and staff members had told me this. When I arrived at my car, the guard who clamped my car was gone and there was now only one clamp on my right wheel. So I showed the available guard the receipt for the fine and told him the situation and he said that my car should not have been clamped as he removed it. I took my car and parked it on the 3rd floor parking to avoid clamping my car again as I wanted to speak to a manager and report the guard who clamped my car without valid reason. I returned requesting the staff and security to speak to a manager and spoke to a female staff over the phone, I explained the situation, she took my vehicle details and contact information and said she will contact me. I waited at the airport for 5 hours waiting for that call to resolve this issue. I won't back to parking management where two security guards MJ and John who contacted the guard who clamped my car and got his name. However they could not assist me in any way and could not get hold of any manager. I was told that no one could help me and that i must return on Wednesday. I am still waiting to be contacted on this matter as said on the phone call. I returned on Wednesday as instructed, wasted my fuel and paid for another parking ticket only to find that the entire staff in on leave and there is no manager to assist me. I was put on a call with a manager, Floyd, who was utterly rude and said it is not his problem. This is terrible customer service and I fail to understand how no one could assist me on Sunday or Wednesday at such an establishment. It took half an hour for my money to be taken, but yet to fix a fault, there is nothing that can be done??
