OrTambo Parking

I would not recommend using OrTambo Parking (https://ortamboparking.co.za/)!!!

A few weeks ago I had to book my vehicle, VW Caddy, into OrTambo Parking for long-term parking as I live far from Johannesburg. I urgently had to visit my brother in the USA. I had previously used this company for a shorter period, so I decided to use them again.

THIS WAS A BIG MISTAKE! – THEY LOST MY ORIGINAL VW KEY – THE SPARE TYRE WENT MISSING – ALL MY TOOLS WERE MISSING INCLUDING MY LOCK NUT– PERSONAL BELONGINGS WERE MISSING FROM INSIDE THE VEHICLE – THEY DROVE MY VEHICLE AN EXTRA 60KM USING MY FUEL.

Approximately two weeks after leaving my vehicle with OR Tambo Parking I received a message that they had lost my original vehicle key. I continually got messages from them asking for my spare key and I explained to them that I had the spare key with me overseas and I would bring it back with me when I arrive back in SA. Upon arrival, I collected my vehicle and was informed that they tried to cut a generic key at a local locksmith, but it would not start the vehicle. They then cut another two keys which also did not work. They even got a locksmith to open my vehicle without my permission. When I reported these missing items and asked them why my key was lost, they gave me no explanation. They are denying anything was missing from the vehicle and sent me a WhatsApp saying, quote as per WhatsApp “I have discussed the above with management and your vehicle was parked with them under your insurer, OrTambo Parking does not accept liability or responsibility for any loss or damage as per our terms and conditions.” Strange because their website says safe and secure parking.

I would not recommend ever using this company!!!
