Lies, terrible service, and additional costs

I recently app**** for Medical aid with MedShield through Rochelle Cronje, who works at Optivest. She was very quick to get my application going while I cancelled my membership with MediHelp. When MedShield accepted my application, but set certain 1 year exclusions, Rochelle suggested I cancel my application with MedShield, go back to MediHelp and wait another 2 months, and then switch to MedShield so their exclusions will not apply. In theory everything made sense, Rochelle said she would handle everything and that I shouldn’t worry. When nothing happened for over a week, I contacted MedShield myself, only to be told that no enquirie had been made. I followed the consultants’ instruction and sent an email of cancellation as a non-starter to MedShield and got the process going. I sent Rochelle a very angry email, and then she promised that she would be on the ball. Days later I still had not received the certificate of cancellation I required for MediHelp to continue my membership. Once again Rochelle stopped replying to emails and I was forced to contact MedShield myself. When I did receive the certificate, the cancellation date did not say the 1st of August as it should have, and when I made enquiries as to why, I was told that I had seven days after MedShield accepted my application to cancel, and that debit orders had already been submitted. Because of the incredibly poor performance of Rochelle Cronje and the people at Optivest, I now have to pay for a medical aid, which gives me absolutely no benefits for the first and only month of which I am a member, so if I’m in an accident, I’m completely uncovered, and I have to pay for the cancellation of my previous membership with MediHelp, including the saving plan that has been depleated, but paid out pro-rata. To date, my last email correspondence with Rochelle was on the 26th of July, with absolutely no response. Optivest is an absolute sham, this is my second time using them and it’s a total nightmare! Honestly, if you want your life turned absolutely upside down, use Optivest.
