Used a broker to secure Gapcover for pregnancy and childbirth. Was given misleading information, cover that was not suitable for my needs. When time comes to claim, you are burried in paper work...additonal documents are requested. You will be sent on a wild chase for doctors reports and proof of services over and above what the claim form requires, only to have your claim denied for ambiguise reasons...which if were at all truthtruthful, you would have been told immediately instead of been asked for more information.

There assessment process is set up for them to find every loophole and reason NOT to pay.

I made four claims for four different things, all were returned declined.

The underwritings basically exclude everything, which is hard to tell at first because of the jargon used. when you trybto claim, they expertly guide you to the exclusion amd unpack the jargon. Despite asking for specific information when taking out the policy.

The recorded call is of nonuse to you, they refuse to forward any recordings to you and ask you to insteadto travel to their offices in Pretoria and Cape Town, knowing you from durban.

I am sure if you are able to go to their offices, you would be gaslighted in some other way.

Save yourself. Dont use Optivest. They are a ********** scheme posing as a short term insurance.
