*********...No deposit back and no vehicle

<p>On the of 12th of September, I found a car on autotrader which I was highly interested in, more so because it was from G2 certified opel dealer and also because the car suited my specs. I called the dealer the next day and was put through to a gentlemen by the name of Jeandre. He insisted that I should immediately do the deposit or else the car will be sold very fast. Now he had already created an urgency, so I obliged. I said ok, I'll do a deposit of 5000 so that the car will be held for me. When I had asked about the car he said it was gone to the workshop to sort out some minor issues. When I had asked about the Offer to purchase he had told me that the systems were down and he could not issue one. Anyway, the payment was completed I had messaged jeandre to let him know, I had sent him a proof as well. He acknowledges. Now all that was left to do was wait till the car was back from the workshop, if it had actually even went to one. In that interim I had told 6 other dealers that I had found a car and am no longer interested, I paid a R5000 holding deposit as instructed I mean it was not for specks and boontjies.</p> <p>Days went by, Jeandre has been ignoring my calls, avoiding them when the secretary transferred me to him etc etc. Now I was getting angry. I don't expect to be messed around by a reputable company. This *********** salesman, made as if I don't do the deposit immediately I'll lose out. We expect delivery.<br />I got hold of another salesman, Shaun. Who kept making excuses and excuses, then Jeandre finally got back to me. Sends me the documentation, which I immediately signed. Next day I get a phone call, he tells me the car is sold?? Now what? I paid a deposit, I don't get sent the documentation, now they start apologizing and making stories. I have proof of dates of the deposit, dates when the Offer to Purchase was sent tp me, all of it. Possibly knowing already that the car was getting sold and yet, this duo had the odecity to send me an Offer to Purchase which was signed and sent back not even 3 hours later. If I was in the area I wouldve went over there and made a huge scene. What kind of service is that?? Then they start promising to find me another car and stories and lies just follow. I am not upset anymore. I am ****ed off.<br />********* ****s as far as I'm concerned. I will soon take this to social networks, to notify the public not to be ****med by these people. Its not about the 5000 deposit. It is about the principal behind it and the ethical responsibility set out for the dealership. </p> <p>I called customer care, and I do not if I was just angry or if the guy really was terribly rude to me, but anyway, he had requested I type out an email. Which I did. Got a response from a lady there who was very apologetic and I had requested for her to search for me a car in the same price range, similar mileage etc.</p> <p>And that was it. Never got a call back, can't trace this lady down, nothing. Left hanging with no alternative. Oh and its just under a month later and I still did not receive my "Holding deposit" back. After numerous calls and follow-up false promises by the dealership I have given up hope. No deposit back and no vehicle.</p>
