Disgusting Service from General Motors

To GM South Africa

I write this with pure and utter disappointment. I am the owner of a 2016 Opel Adam Glam to which I purchased brand new in February 2016 from the GM branch in Sandton. The vehicles mileage is 45000km at the moment. I have thus far had numerous issues with my car which to my surprise still cannot be resolved by my dealership. The vehicle suddenly goes into limp mode and there is a tremendous loss of power. This problem has been going on for a period of 7 months, in those 7 months it has been to GM 4 times and the problem is still to be resolved. 2 of the 4 times I sent the vehicle to the Bruma GM branch and after months and months dealing with this issue I decided to take the vehicle to the Edenvale GM. The representative that assisted me at the Edenvale branch was completely arrogant and did not even take the time to listen to what I may have thought the problem was and This is infuriating me even further. One of my suspicions is that the boost pipe leading to the throttle body seems to be loose as well as have small shallow cuts through the pipe, I'm assuming that this is from pure carelessness and *********** workmanship carried out on my vehicle. Even with attempting to communicate this information with the rep nothing has changed, in such a case if this was not the problem this should have been fixed anyway to prevent any further damage to the car. I have remained very patient and reserved my frustration over this matter. The representatives of the dealership assured me that the problem had been fixed each and every time. It is truly disappointing that one purchases a brand new car and has to deal with this endless problem. Another issue that I have had is since my vehicle went for its first service and the radio intellilink system was updated and now does not connect to certain devices as well as the maps are now European and I can’t use the GPS. This has not been resolved either! I find the service received from GM is completely unacceptable and that it is shocking that I have to revert to platforms such as Hello Peter. I trust that this issue will be dealt with. I do not believe that this is how customer service should be carried out.

Regards

Previn Moodley
