The rental agent has 2 criteria to approve the rental amount of a lease agreement, one is that your rent should not be more than 33% of your salary and if you pass this one, your credit check applies. You have to pay more than R400 for your credit check and you cannot send your own report from the Transunion website straight to them. I was declined for the first criteria AFTER I paid the R400 for the second criteria. They were well aware of my salary beforehand and that I already had a credit report. They could have declined me before I paid the R400.00. Please beware of them ******** you out of your money. Make sure that you qualify for the first criteria before you pay them anything. I have also worked with other agents, who does not charge for the credit report.
