Worst experience EVER by using One Stop Movers
PLEASE STAY FAR FAR AWAY from these people.
We moved from Brakpan to the Western Cape. I decided to find a company that will send an expert in moving to come to my house and give us a quotation on site. One Stop Movers send their moving EXPERT to check all items to be moved and prepared a quote. We eventually accepted the quote for R 26 800.00. I asked that they confirm in writing that this TOTAL price will get all our stuff moved. Including plants, wood and woodworking machinery. I received the conformation and with piece in mind paid the deposit. The truck arrived... not One Stop Movers, but a truck and trailer from Peters Mini Movers in Cape Town. They started to load up and when the trailer allocated to us was full they loaded the rest in the truck. I was happy that by 23h00 that night everything was loaded. At this time the EXPERT was at our house and did not mention any additional payment had to be made. I was under the impression that the conformation mail from the EXPERT was that I paid the contractual agreed sum of money and all our stuff will be moved as agreed and signed. By the way not all the potplants were loaded as the truck and trailer was full at 23h00 that night. So when they arrived (LATE) for delivery in the Western Cape only the trailer was offloaded. I started to inquire about the rest of our belonging only to be told that we will have to pay an additional R 16 800 to get the rest delivered. Off course I objected to this because their EXPERT come to our house. This EXPERT gave the quotation and this EXPERT confirmed on an email that ALL our belongings will be moved for the agreed price of R 26 800.00. I was told in MAFIA style that if I do not pay the extra R 16 800.00 they simply keep the belongings in storage, charge me for storage and handling fees. To try and get our stuff I had a lawyers letter drawn up at an additional cost of R 950.00. This was send to them indicating that we will pay the extra just to get our stuff released and delivered, but will keep our options open to sue for breach of contract. Money paid and we wait and wait and wait for the delivery. When the second delivery was made again not all the belongings were delivered...SORRY THE TRUCK HE WAS FULL. Eventually the third truck arrived nearly 2 months from the start of the move. This time the potplants arrived. Yes you guessed it...for 2 months nobody bothered to water any of the plants in the warehouse. Everything was now either dead or damaged to such and extend that they could just have dumped it in JHB. Damages to my woodworking machines was around R 80 000.00. When I contacted MR PAUL he told me that his insurance will only pay out half of what I claim. I do not think that One Stop Movers even owns one moving truck. They are brokers with NO IDEA of moving people belongings. I have seen other people also complaining about their modus operandi where they quote a low price. Once they have your deposit you have no change to win their game. So please stay far far away from One Stop Movers and also their sidekick Peters.
I suppose I will now at least get one phone call from MR PAUL..because he is also not a man to return calls.
