Onderstepoort Veterinary Hospital - You guys rock!

We wish to thank Onderstepoort Veterinary Hospital and Dr Salomé and her assistant Tasha for the exceptional service and great care they have taken with treating our cat back to health.

Our cat had been diagnosed with severe renal failure by Dr Pieter Bosch at the Glen Veterinary Clinic on Monday. He provided us with options and with hesitation we accepted the referral to Onderstepoort Veterinary Hospital. That was the only option that would have enabled us to at least visit him on a daily basis.

The sad part is that he only turned 4 (human years) in January this year.

What a surprise we got. From the front desk people to all the carers in ICU, we were comforted by the dedicated way in which they were treating our cat. They brought down his 1 000+ mg per litre creatinine level to 600 mg by Tuesday and to 300 mg by Thursday.

While still high, he is in homecare now and recovering slowly by surely. He probably will have to spend the rest of his life on a 100 ml drip every second or third day. With the diet they have recommended, I have no doubt that he will spend a quality life for as long as his kidneys and special care allow him to.

Thank you Onderstepoort Veterinary Hospital, Dr Salomé and assistance Tasha for treating Buxi back to health. We still have some way to go but you are empowering and encouraging us to continue the homecare to the best of our ability.

We are looking forward to our follow-up appointment this coming Friday and we are positive that you will be satisfied with his progress.
