Midnight dash.

<p>On the 8th of July 2017, my boyfriend had booked a one night stay at Goblin's Cove as a means of getting out of the city and having some quality time alone together.<br />Upon arrival, we noticed that the place was undergoing rennovations, a detail that was not stated on the website, quotation or any other means of communication between us. Disappointed that we would not experience the 'magic' they advertise (not one fairy or goblin could be seen and it looked like a derelict building site), we still looked forward to our mini getaway.<br />It took about 10 minutes to find someone who worked there to help us 'check in', eventually we were wondering aimlessly until someone realised that we were lost and escourted us to the accommodation. It was here that we were informed that the place was undergoing rennovations!</p> <p>The train accommodation was dismal at best. The place was dirty and smelt of damp, the bed sheets were torn with holes in them and the bathroom light did not work. The lady who escourted us to the accommodation then informed us that the kitchen closes at 5pm and should we wish to eat something, we should do it before then.</p> <p>This accommodation, on the website, boasts serenity and privacy, of which neither we experienced. Whilst trying to have a afternoon nap, we were interrupted by the banging of the owners doing god knows what, and the restaurant patrons running to our accommodation to see 'how cool it is'. Despite the sign stating Private Residence, keep out.<br />Due to not being able to eat supper after 5pm, we then ventured out to find somewhere to eat (highly recommend the Black Horse Brewery down the way!!).<br />Upon returning, we got into bed to settle down for the night. Please note that the duvet given to us was wafer thin, windows did not close properly thus causing a cold breeze to fill the room with only a oil heater to keep us warm. Whilst lying in bed (note we are supposedly the only guests in the establishment that night, there were no other cars around), we heard footsteps and talking outside the window mumbling "Do you think they're sleeping already?" or something to that effect. It was at this point that we then questioned our safety. My boyfriend got up to go see what was happening but we could not see anyone, however could hear voices coming from somewhere. It was at this point where we drew the line and decided, at 10.30pm, to pack up our stuff and leave to go home. We did not even try to contact the manager or staff, as we were apalled at what they deemed "hospitality".<br /><br />In a nutshell we had issues with the following:<br />1. The accommodation is appalling. Dirt and torn bed sheets is truly disgusting! How can a professional establishment expect their paying patrons to sleep in that.</p> <p>2. Not having a restaurant that offers dinner, yet having overnight accommodation. It was here we realised the other gems the Magaliesburg had to offer as it forced us to explore the area to find food.</p> <p>3. A complete lack of privacy, especially at night which causes concern for safety.</p> <p> </p> <p>We are beyond disgusted at this experience and would like a full refund of monies paid. Would not recommend this accommodation to my worst enemy!</p>
