Worse Customer Service ever
I had 2 account with Onair TV and decided to settle both during February 2019. The agent quoted me settlement figures and mentioned that there are debit orders that’s been scheduled for 2 days later and that they can’t stop it. I agreed to let it go through and she adjusted the settlement figures to include the debit orders.
I immediately settled the accounts and the debit orders were successful at the end of February 2019. At the end of March 2019 they debited me again with 2 installments, which I disputed on 1 April. I called them the same day to explain the reason why I sent the debit orders back. The agent admitted that they made a mistake and he assured me it will not happen again; and it didn’t.
Today (11 March 2020 and almost a year later) I received 2 sms’s from MBD (debt collectors) stating that the accounts were handed over to them as they are in arrears. I called Onair TV immediately their argument is that the agent who quoted the settlement figures is not in their employment anymore and they can’t listen to her voice recordings. They do apologise for the mistake, but I still have to pay the R239-00 (arrears of both accounts). They could not provide proof of any attempts from their side over almost a year to get hold of me - my contact details is the same for many years.
I paid the amount to the debt collectors, because I just don’t have the energy or time to fight this to wherever they want to take it. My telephone calls for today alone is close to amount outstanding!!!
