Onair - ***** ***** ***** - You have been warned.

Be very very very aware of this company. I took out a contract more than 5 years ago to upgrade to the DSTV explorer. At the end of the contract I confirmed via email that the agreement was finished and that no further payments would be debited from my account. This was verified and no further payments were debited.

Now 5 years later I have started getting calls from a debt collecting company demanding outstanding payments. I have tried to explain that I owe nothing and they now have resorted to sending me sms messages with no contact details, just a bank account and reference number and amount. Then on the 30th June On Air started to debit my account again for R149. I have had to get the bank to return the debit and then today I received a call from On Air but when I answered it just cuts off. When I tried calling back there are different options to select but which ever option you select 1) Orders - this goes to car tracking 2) Billing or account queries etc, it says "Goodbye" and cuts off. I have tried calling numerous times and selecting different options and all you get is "Goodbye". You cannot talk to anyone from this company. In short and in my opinion (without prejudice) they are a bunch of **********. I am going to contact Multichoiice and cancel my DSTV subscription on the basis that they gave Onair the contract to market their product and see if that does anything to help. There are much cheaper options like Netflix available. My advice to anyone out there that is contacted by this company is to steer clear of any product where they require your banking details for a debit order. Once they have them they will just start to debit you again 5 years after your contract has concluded. From what I have read on line about this company there are numerous problems with orders etc as well. I will be opening ***** charges against the company too.
