On Air- *****ulent, *******, ********* and falsely advertise their products.

A representative from this company named Zinhle phoned me on Monday 20 May 2024, she told me that I could get the new DSTV Explora Ultra decoder for R259/month for a period of 24 months after which the decoder is mine and I can continue to stream the Apps provided with the decoder. She advised that I would then be able to stream DSTV channels, Super sport, Netflix, Showmax, U/Tube, Prime Video, Disney Plus and Live cover through my unlimited ,uncapped Wi-Fi that I have in place at my home. She also advised that I would get a simcard with R50 per month for the 24 month duration as well as free IT support during the 24 period. I would also get R5000 life cover for the period as well as device insurance. I repeatedly asked her if there was no other hidden costs involved and I informed her that I cancelled my DSTV subscription more than a year ago. The next day the decoder was delivered and that night I called the IT support people who advised that I needed to subscribe with DSTV before I would be able to view anything. I was also told that I needed to subscribe to the PVR package before I would be able to view Netflix etc. They further advised that I needed to have a smart LNB device placed on my dish outside. The cost for this was going to be R650. On 24 May 2024 I phoned On Air and I spoke to a lady named Tembeka that was actually very helpful and understanding. I told he I want to cancel the deal as I have the right to cancel within 7 days after receiving the decoder, as per their terms and agreement. I explained that Zinhle misled me and falsely advertised their product. Tembeka advised that she is going to send my query to their Quality team to review the voice recordings and that she would contact me the next Monday for an outcome of my query. Tembeka phoned me on Monday 27 May 2024 and she advised that my outcome was successful and that it was found that Zinhle was not truthful in her sale to me. She then proceeded to cancel my deal with On Air, I was given a reference number ***. The next day the courier service collected the decoder which I placed back in its original packaging. On 30 May 2024 On Air debited my bank account with R259 despite Zinhle advising me that the first debit order was only going to be due on 30 June 2024. Now I daily mail Zinhle regarding the money that was ****** from my bank account and I have asked for a refund and for a cancelation letter from On Air. Her mail to me yesterday 03 June 2024 said Please be informed that , as per our recordings ,the contract still active pending cancellation. It seems as if I have to now wait until they decide it is convenient for them to cancel the deal although it was confirmed by Tembeka. I am also of the opinion that they are not going to refund me as Zinhle keeps on telling me that refunds will be issued after the contract is canceled in our systems. Not sure if that is going to happen though! There e-mail is *** Please do not do business with this company as they are falsely advertising their products and then you are unable to cancel the debit order and you have to wait until they cancel it. I have blocked them at my bank ,but that also comes at a cost to me. They are *********, ***** your money and have no conscience whatsoever. Kind regards.

Reviewer Update
Good day,

Following my initial review of On-Air on 04 June 2024, a representative from On-Air contacted me regarding the review that I wrote. Her name is Kashnee Rajgopaul. I explained the entire chronological order of events of how the product was misrepresented to me and how the product was falsely advertised. I asked that On-Air submit a cancelation letter to me and that they refund the money that they debited from my account unauthorized. The representative was very understanding and seemed to grasp how I felt regarding the ordeal that I went through with On-Air. She advised that she would organize the cancelation letter as well as the refund payable to me.

On 07 June 2024, she mailed me the cancelation letter from On-Air and I thanked her for the letter. On 24 June 2024, she mailed me and advised that their billing department have eventually confirmed that my debit order taken 30 May 2024 have reflected and that they would now refund me the money payable to me. She further advised that the money due to me would reflect 14 working days from 21 June 2024, i.e. on 10 July 2024, that is tomorrow. On 4 July 2024, I mailed her and advised her that I have not received any payment yet. She phoned me and told me that their billing department is saying that my bank account is not an active account. I gave her my bank account details and mailed her the actual debit order details where On-Air debited the money from my account. She mailed me and rep**** that she has forwarded my mail to their billing department, that she has requested an update, and that I would be contacted soon.

Today, I again mailed her and advised that I have not received a payment from On-Air. I also raised my concern that I felt that it seems as if On-Air is giving me the run around and that they do not have any intention of refunding me and that I could not understand how they were unable to do a simple transaction and pay me back my money. Another representative named Tabiso then phoned me and asked me if I want my money paid back into my bank account. I rep**** yes I want that and she then advised that I would now have to wait another 14 days before I would receive my money. I mailed Kashnee and I responded that I would like to speak to a top management representative to assist me in getting my money back as it seems as if the one person does not know what the other one does and that I am tired of been given the run around. I await a reply from ON-Air. It goes without saying that the fact that I am now again writing this review is testament of the fact that I have not yet received the money that is payable to me and that I am unsure if On-Air is ever going to refund me my money. I am now going to wait another 14 days to see if I am paid back the money owed to me. I shall post another update after 14 days.

Kind regards.
