ON-AIR TV Bad news

This company cold-called me to offer me a monthly DSTV Ultra decoder. I was told that the installment included the decoder, installation, insurance, and access to Netflix and Showmax. That was how I understood the sales call. After two months, I inquired about the delivery and was told I was not at home when they tried to deliver the decoder. After the decoder was delivered, I realised that the promised access to Netflix and Showmax was only linked to their services and that I still needed to sign up with them. Given the premium of R259.00 pm, I accepted that paying R6 216.00 for a decoder that sells for R2800.00 at Hi-Fi Corp should include these services. When I contacted On-Air to query this, I was told they will investigate my complaint. I told the consultant I will not pay until we can resolve the matter. A month later, with no response from On-Air, I was listed at the Credit Bureaus for missing instalments on my account. As I needed to protect my creditworthiness, I decided to make the payment and send them the proof. I am still awaiting the outcome of the investigation, and although I have subsequently been paying my premiums, I am now listed as "not paying" for 3 months at the Credit Bureaus. I took it up with OnAir. Although they promised to rectify the listings, the Credit Bureaus confirmed that no correspondence to this effect was received from OnAir TV. I will never advise anyone to do business with these people as they are conning people to sign up, then force them to pay as they can stuff up your credit ratings.
