I was cold-called with an offer to replace my DSTV decoder with the newest model. The agent (Nkonzo Hlela) stated that the offer was to only pay R239pm for 24 months instead of my normal R1000+ subscription, and that my R1000pm would kick in again after 24 months. We confirmed this twice, even suggesting that this sounds too good to be true. Only when I needed to supply my banking details which I didn't want to do over the phone, was I transferred to Melissa who said the R239pm over and above my channel subscription (eg premium package).
