How can you take someone to debt collectors for mere R169?

I took contract of installation of explorer to cut the story short on August I called the call center to find out when the contract will expire which informed that end of September but to my surprise I got debited October but managed to reverse debit order but now receiving threatening sms that they will hand over my account to debt collectors
