Hennie Smit 18 Karee str, Amandasig, Pretoria, South-Africa (w)+27 ********** 31/2 (c) ********** 919 23/10/2017 Hello Peter For as long as we had the Dstv PVR , more than 20 years, we were very happy with it, but because technology was changing we knew that someday soon we will have to make a change. Multi choice launches this marketing strategy, as we understood it, with a small increment on your subscription fee (+- R149.00) you will receive a new explorer and a single second decoder. This is what we will get 1) 100 hours of recording- as to 80 hours 2) HD capabilities for vivid viewing 3) This is what we will lose (That was never told) 1) With the swapping you will lose all 80 Hours of pre recorded data 2) That all data recorded can only be viewed in the same room as where it was recorded Meaning you lose the duel view capability where you can record in the living room and watch in the bedroom 2) The second decoder installed cannot watch any pre recorded data. You cannot pause or start later as it is direct broadcasting. So you have to be in front of the screen when the broadcast starts or miss some part of it. To conclude: We were never told that we will have to pay more for less; there was no transparency in the proposal. On Air contracted an installer to install the new decoder. When we realize what the implications are going to be, we told him that we were not interested, he just left everything where he was working and left. The next day I contacted Multi choice notifying them that we cancelled the deal and verify that no additional cost was subtracted from my monthly bill. Every month we receive a call from the representative Catrisha whether we want to change our mind and on all these occasions we said no. Without our knowledge, after every call that we rejected the offer, they withdraw an instalment adding up to 9 instalments totalling R 1341.00 After finding out about this deduction I called On Air and speak to the Supervisor Somela. I asked that they collect the hardware, still in its original packaging, and refund the amount of R1341.00 they have deducted. She refuses and states that she will call me back with a playback recording of us accepting the deal. As this is their policy to record all calls surely she could also provide us with the playback recordings stating that we were not interested. We are 2 pensioners and we cannot pay for something we did not receive. I would like them to came and collect the hardware that they delivered on my doorstep and debit my account. They declined and I ask you now if you can intervene. On Air TV Silindile Ndelu (CCQuery) Tel 0861 333 53 Email: ********** Contract No OA ********** 7-1 Regards Hennie Smit
