Empty promises - no service

OnAir TV called me pushing to selling me an updated DSTV decoder. Initially I said no but then I caved thinking it would be easier for my husband. He would be able to access the sport he wants to watch and the various Apps we subscribe to in one place. 18th March I contacted them asking to settle the account. I settled the account on the 31st March. On the 2nd April I received my paid up letter stating the account was paid in full and had been closed. On the 26th April the debit order for the monthly R239-00 went off my account. Since the 29th of April I have been asking for this to be corrected and my funds to be returned to me. On the 5th May I was told the debit order is in: "14 day validation period only once it reflects as successfull can we request a refund." This should have ended on the 9th May. I hear nothing rom them. I follow up on the 16th May. Even though they have my banking details I must provide them and then I "will be refunded within 7-21 workings days once your request has been approved." FYI - this is a Debicheck debit order so I cannot simply reverse it, otherwise I would have done so already. I am done with this company, all they do is apologise for the delayed response and I have to chase them to get responses from the day I requested to settle my account. It is not good enough. I have worked in accounts my entire life and understand how these things work. These people have a culture to apologising without fixing the problem. Just confirm my account is paid in full and the account closed and return the overpayment to the account you debited. Stop jerking me around.

NB: When you have authorised a DebiCheck debit order be sure to suspend the authorisation on your banking app when you have settled or closed the account it relates to. The things they (your bank) don't tell you.
