Feedback on Recent Event Experience

I am writing to provide feedback on my recent experience at the Jamie Fine concert held at the Walter Sisulo Botanical Gardens on Saturday 27 April 2024.

As an enthusiastic attendee who opted for the VIP package, I had high expectations based on the promises advertised and paying R1000 for a ticket. Unfortunately, several aspects of the event did not meet these expectations, and I feel compelled to share my concerns.

Firstly, one of the key features of the VIP package was the provision of a golf cart for transportation within the venue. This was not available, which was not only disappointing but also inconvenient. Additionally, the benefits of the VIP package including a signed poster and a free gift, which were pivotal in my decision to purchase this premium ticket, were not provided.

Moreover, the organization at the bar was significantly lacking. I spent over two hours queuing for drinks due to the bar being under-stocked and under-staffed. The drinks, when received, were warm, further detracting from the overall experience. This situation could have been mitigated by better logistical planning and adequate staffing.

Another critical issue was the management of the VIP and regular ticket holders. There was a clear difficulty in distinguishing between the two, which caused unnecessary confusion and dissatisfaction amongst the attendees. This not only affected the exclusivity promised with the VIP experience but also contributed to a negative atmosphere throughout the concert.

The culmination of these issues unfortunately created a disappointing experience for many, myself included. The overall vibe of the concert was negatively affected, which was disheartening, considering the excitement and anticipation leading up to the event.
