***** by OMODA Sandton
Shocking experience at Digicars Omoda Sandton branch, they hired a *****ulent salesman who conned us out of our deposit, Omoda have done NOTHING and are taking no prepsonsibility, keep telling us they will call us but have heard nothing, we paid R10 000 to the salesman thinking we were paying the deposit to be told a month later that it was a con! How can they hire a ****** surely forensic checks are done before recruiting people involved in finance then taking no repsonsibility, rather go to HAVAL or any other car brand!

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We are truly sorry to hear about the unfortunate experience you’ve had and understand how distressing it is to yourself being a victim of ********** activity. Unfortunately, ***** has become an increasingly common issue across many industries in South Africa. The motor industry is no exception, whereby individuals misrepresent themselves as legitimate and take advantage of unsuspecting buyers.
Please be advised of the following precautions to help safeguard yourself against future instances of ***** to ensure the security of your purchases:
• Do not make any payments (cash or otherwise) to individuals on a personal basis or to personal bank accounts while at a legitimately operating business premises.
• Always insist on a ‘proof of payment received document’ or invoice, on an official company letterhead, with the company landline telephone number - which will allow you to verify that the business has indeed received your payment for the item you are buying and that the items is actually for sale.
• Be cautious of deals that seem too good to be true. ******** often lure buyers with usually low prices, or urgent payment requests in order to ‘secure a deal’.
While we may not be able to reverse what has occurred, we hope that the information provided today will guide you on the possible next steps, such as reporting the incident to the relevant authorities and exploring avenues of recovery against the person who misled you.
Regarding your concerns about our recruitment practices, please be assured that all hiring is conducted in line with our company policies and applicable labour laws.
Thank you again, for the communication, noting that we have also taken further steps to ensure such an incident is never repeated.
