Pathetic service from Motor Industry ombudsman!!!

27th April 2020 I contacted Justin Burger who worked as a salesman for Cars R Us Motors Pinetown , to trade in my Audi A5 for a Polo GTI. I’ve told Justin Burger that I will only take the polo gti if I could do a trade in for the Audi A5. The deal was done in June 2020. After the deal was done, I expected the trade in to be smooth with no issues. The polo gti did issues, the tyres were not in a good state, the car needed some tlc with regards to the body work, and the control arm was not 100% , to date I’ve only received R2000 for the tyres, the other outstanding things to be done on the car hasn’t been done.

Wait there’s more.

The Audi A5 has still not been settled has yet. There’s outstanding fines that hasn’t been paid, those fines were made after i traded in the car. Every month I have to worry Justin to pay me for the monthly instalment . He kept on saying that due to the pandemic they do not have money to settle the car. I eventually raised this with Motor Industry Ombudsman of South Africa and copied cars r is on mail. Cars r us sent the purchase letter to the motor industry ombudsman showing that a trade in was not stated on the letter, I’ve notified the ombudsman that was not even my writing on the letter. Also I’ve notified the ombudsman that if it wasn’t a trade in I wouldn’t have made the deal! I assumed that the ombudsman was for the benefit of the customer but I guess I assumed wrong.

Wait there’s more.

Only after contacting the ombudsman did Justin give me the R2000 for the tyres. Prior to contacting the ombudsman I’ve been promised that the Audi A5 was going to get settled but it never happened.

Apparently Justin does not work for cars r us now. So when I contacted cars r is recently regarding this, they advised that I did the deal with Justin, and not with them. Justin says I must contact cars r us coz he has nothing to do with them and they are responsible and he doesn’t talk to them anymore.

I’d like to know has anyone had problems with Justin Burger or cars r is before? And does anyone know how I can seek help to get out of this?
