NO WONDER DEALERSHIPS GET AWAY WITH IT
Good day

I have been paying monthly installments on a vehicle for the past 5 months, of which i drove the car for 1 month. I have a 6 months warranty with the dealership & took out extended warranty/insurance with MFC. After having the car a few weeks, the oil pump packs up. Of course i contact the dealership as i have a 6 month warranty with them. I am told contact MFC. MFC sends out an assessor who rejects the claim as they say the condition existed before i bought the car. Now I am going back & forth between MFC & dealership. In the end i am advised to take it to Motor Industry Ombudsman if dealership does not want to fix it. What does dealership tell me. Take me to the Ombudsman. Now i can see why. You get no response from emails that you send. The dealership gets 10 days to reply to a letter that was sent on 7 December. Last week i was told they were on leave, so 10 days is today. Call today & i am told it takes a long time for this process. According to the National Consumer Commission, the MIOSA will bring justice for consumers like me. Why does this not feel so? Would you like to pay R4000 a month for a car you not driving & pay others for lifts now?
