Ford Ranger Wildtrak Factory Defects
I purchased a New Ford Ranger Wildtrak 2.0 BIT 10 Speed the 15th of June 2019. When I washed the vehicle the first time I noticed that the front passenger door does not follow the same profile as the rear door with 3-4mm deviations in some areas. The drivers door has the same issue in a lesser extent. I then took the vehicle to the dealer where they tried to convince me that the doors should be like that in order to enhance airflow. I was quite shocked that they could even think that I would accept the answer. They then told me that they will send the vehicle to a panel beater at the first service for assessment. The sync 3 system is also supposed to be equipped with Android Auto and Apple Carplay which is not installed on my vehicle. I was also informed it will be fixed with the first service.
The 10 speed gearbox broke when the vehicle had done 9 500km and the vehicle was then taken to the Ford Dealer in Middelburg Mpumalanga. Ford ordered a new gearbox which took two weeks to deliver. I asked that the Factory defects also be addressed as the vehicle will be standing for two weeks. The vehicle is back with me for three weeks now and nothing has been sorted. I am not getting any feedback at all. The new gearbox is also problematic which has been reported to the dealer. They also admitted that the vehicle should never have left the factory with the body defects as it is. The dealer took photo's and said that they will discuss the issue with Ford's quality control department. I have attempted to contact them at least once a week regarding the issues on the vehicle with no success.
This is a classic example of a customer paying R 700k for a new vehicle that, when viewed closely, looks like it was in an accident. This vehicle is not a very good adverti*****t for Ford but it seems like they simply does not care what the public think of their products sold in SA and abroad.
