Buskes Motors & MIOSA – Misrepresentation, Broken Promises & No Consumer Protection
Purchased a Ford Ranger from Buskes Motors on 5 April 2024. The sales contract didn’t even match the vehicle. Within 2 weeks, it broke due to dealer-authorised repairs that caused silicone contamination and eventual engine failure.
After months of disputes, MIOSA mediated and Buskes Motors agreed in writing to pay 50% of the current repair costs. I submitted all required evidence. 10 months later, MIOSA:
Ignored key evidence,
Failed to enforce Buskes Motors’ written commitment,
Closed the case stating “no reasonable probability of resolution” – essentially telling me to sort it out myself.
Meanwhile, Pieter Buskes repeatedly broke promises and ultimately refused to pay a cent.
Result: A defective vehicle, no accountability from the dealer, and no protection from the Ombudsman supposedly there to help. Consumers deserve better – from both dealers and regulators.
