Ridiculous premium hikes,Pirate replacemen parts
In 2013 I undertook vehicle insurance with Virgin Money in 2013 at a premium of R7xx. During the year that followed, I had a bit of a bumper bash. Virgin directed the vehicle to one of their approved panel beating shops. After fetching my vehicle I noticed the front bumper and left fender was not proper aligned to the rest of the vehicle. Upon taking the vehicle back to the panel beating shop, I was advised that this misalignment was due to the fact that the replacement parts used where not original (as authorized by Virgin Money) !
This year, Virgin Money has doubled up my premiums to R15xx !
Upon inquiring about this I am advised that the reasons for this RIDICULOUS HIKE in premiums are:
oIncreases only occur bi-annually (so does that mean your premiums should increase by 100%?)
oIncrease in prices of towage, labor, SPARES? (Yet my vehicle now has pirate parts on it!)
oThe fact that I claimed in 2014 (Is this supposed to warrant the 100% increase in premiums?)
Even if the premium increases occurred annually and the cost of labor, towage and spares may increase year on year-these most certainly do not increase by 100%! How can an insurance company increase one's premiums by 100%!
