Whatever happened to humanity??

Me and my husband recently bought taps and wash basins for our new home at Old Time Bathrooms in Pretoria. Unfortunately due to financial constraints we were not able to complete our home and had to let it go. I tried to phone and speak to both the sales consultant (Quinzelle) and the owner (Lynette de Lange) of the company and asked them whether they won't be able to refund me the amount we have paid for the taps and wash basins, as we never took them out of their original packaging and still had the receipt. Irrespective of trying to explain to them the situation not one of them were willing to consider to take the stock back and refund us for the amount.

The owner said that the sales lady Quinnzelle has already received her commission and the VAT was already finalised for the sale. My question is the following: Surely if you still have the original receipt, and all of the stock is still in its original packaging and brand spanking new, shouldn't there be some sort of compensation for the customer?? The stock that was purchased is part of their normal stock which they have in their shops and they will have no problem to resell this stock to another client, therefore they will not lose any revenue for the company and the sales lady will make her commission again when she sells the stock to another client?

It is just a pity that people these days are not at all interested or truly willing to listen or empathise with their customers' situation. For them it is all about just making their money and commission without ever thinking twice about providing customer service to a customer.

I will most definitely not buy anyting from this company again as clearly the customer is not their first priority, only making money is.
