Warning: do NOT use Old Mutual for your retirement annuities!

I have 4 annuities with Old Mutual and regret having chosen Old Mutual as my partner. Ever since taking out these annuities I have encountered endless administrative problems from Old Mutual. Their system is just a mess! My latest challenge was to try and opt-out from the new SARS rules governing PAYE on annuities. Old Mutual sent me a useless opt-out form with space for only two annuities (but I have four!). They also promised I could easily opt-out by replying to their SMS. But they never sent me any SMS! Three time-consuming calls later to their Call Centre (having spoken to Cailin Jones and Anthony, and holding on for his team leader) I am none the wiser. Everyone reading this, please take my experience to heart and choose your insurer wisely.

PS: Anyone thinking this is just an angry rant, please read my other reviews to see how fairly I judge businesses. I only write negative reviews like this one when the service is shockingly bad and I feel called to warn others.
