Unsatisfied

I have been a Greenlight client for Old Mutual since 2014 if I am not wrong. This year in April I called Douglas Magidi who my Financial Advisor at Old Mutual only to find that he is no longer with the company. The reason for my call I wanted to open a Retrenchment Policy - adding to my current Greenlight contract.

Mr Kyle Hughes answered the phone and told me that from now on I will deal with him as Douglas is no longer there. He explained to me that the policy has a 1 month waiting period before I can be retrenched. He send me the contract and the first payment went in April 2016. The contract it reads:

Greenlight Clients have immediate cover on issu

1. With Greenlight'sImmedicate Cover, cover commence on the later of the date on which Old Mutual issues the benefits; or 30 days prior to the selected first premium due date. This means you are covered - before you 've paid your first premium!

2. You will be covered for the full cover amount during this period prior to the payment of the first premium and this benefit feature applies to all benefits , regardless of whether the life covered is a standard or no-standard life (hi.e. has a loading).

3. During the period 2005 to 2014, Old Mutual paid ....

My first premium was paid April 2016 and the second one in May 2016. June 15 I got a retrenchment letter from my employer and I forwarded the information to Kyle on Monday 2016/06/20 09:04 AM. He never responded to my email until I decided to call him on the 22/06/2016. He said he did not receive my email then he had to check while I was holding and he found it. He said to me sorry I did not reply on time it is hectic here. He then said the company will not pay you because you opened this in May and you must pay 6 premiums first and he was shouting at me saying why were you retrenched and I said I am not the only person in the company being retrenched. He said he will come back to me.

Since then, today is 28 June, I am still waiting for his call. I understand that I am no longer important to him because I don't have a job anymore. My question is if he is the good financial adviser he could have advised me how my other policies are going to work going forward while I am still looking for employment, but he decided to keep quiet. My other question is why is Old Mutual still taking my premiums.

Going forward I would like to be contacted and helped as OM client by the Manager and I as soon as I get the job I am taking all my policies elsewhere. I have referred friends to OM because of the service I received from Douglas Magidi. I wish I could know where he is so that we take our policies to him again.

I am a professional person and I am sure I will get the job soon.
