Unpaid Claim By Old Mutual Ref CE***

<p>My mother passed on on the 17th August 2016, she had policies with Old Mutual, we went to Old Mutual to claim, and your consultant at Phalaborwa Branch advised us that my mother has nominated her 4 grandchildren as beneficiaries, one of the four is an adult and the other 3 are stil teenagers and they need to know who they stay with, of which we advised that all the children are under the care of their parent own parent who are the biological children of the deceased. From there that is where the stories after story started.</p> <p>1. They wanted bank acount for the kids and birth certificate. after claim was processed we received sms that it wont be paid, they, want letter of Guadianship of which we made an effort to go see social workers at the police station where they told us that they can not assist us because by law we are the biological parents of the kids and was refered to Magistrate who also told told us thay she wont be able to give us that letter because by law its not allowed.</p> <p>2. Oldmutual again advised that they now want unabridged birth certificate cause it has particulars of both parent, we app**** which took 8 week, what made us irritable and angry is that all the effort the company told us claim is closed we need to start anoher claim process. We claim for the second time and submitted all document but till today claim not paid Ref:CE ********** . Today we poned to inquire but the consultant could not give us answers cause claim has been process but instead she promised to escalate matter to manager and promised to call back. The way in which Old Mutual has treated us I will not be suprised if they dont call us. People starve and pay their premiums every mnth but when it come claim stage, the company find excuses not to pay.</p> <p> </p> <p>Old Mutal is such a big company but should it carry on like this it will loose lots of it loyal client. I used to hear people compalin that the service its horrible but never believed it till now. Instead of our children get the benefit of what their grand mother has left for them, they are being send from pillar to post and in a process we are wasting money which we dont have.</p> <p> </p>
