Unit Trust Transact Access

I have been struggling for two weeks to get access to MY unit trust account.

Each operator promises the world and I heard " you'll have access tomorrow" one too many times. After confirming my details for (what felt like) the 99th time and with the 3rd or fourth operator, I was promised that "you'll definitely have access tomorrow!!", the operator even said they would send me an email confirming this.

Ha, dont think so. -no access -no email received

So at the end of week 2, I FINALLY got access to my unit trust (only after reaching someone fairly competent and getting a manager involved). By now my Unit trust had fallen 10% in value....

The operator then told me I would have immediate access and could do as I please, I Liquidated the Unit trust on the spot. Thinking that this would luckily be the last time I would ever have to deal with the wonderful Old Mutual.

BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE... (and this really got to me..)

After selling, I waited for an email to confirm this, but to no avail. I kept checking on my Old Mutual portal and saw that the transaction status kept saying PENDING. The following day I called them (AGAIN) asking what was going on this time. Now I had to hear that they only now had registered & verified my details (the very same details that I so graciously repeated over and over and over the week before) and that the sell transaction would be delayed for another day or two. Costing me another 5% of my total Unit trust Value!

At this stage it truly felt like Old Mutual was purposefully prolonging my suffering.

So in conclusion : 8 Phone Calls 54 minutes in total spent on the phone with "professionals" 15% Value lost on my Unit trust (which is a hell of a lot of money to me) One extremely upset client who will NEVER be back A person who will for the rest of his days scream NOOOO at the top of his lungs when someone says they are thinking about investing/saving with Old Mutual.

All of this just because I wanted access to MY Unit trust. What a mission.

Luckily I didn't ask something difficult of them.. like making a cup of tea.

Truly disgusted and disappointed.
