UNFAIR REMOVAL OF CRITICAL ILLNESS COVER

Had a Life Insurance Policy with Old Mutual for many year. In 2018 for the 1st time a debit was returned however double debit was then arranged to go off the following month. I made certain that I had sufficient funds and more for the double premium. Old Mutual did not debit the account, the policy then lapsed. Made contact with Old Mutual advising sufficient funds were available, they then asked for full medicals for the person insured. After receiving the medical report directly from the doctor, they decided that because of the deterioration of health in the last year/months of the medical report, they were going to re-instate the policy BUT on one condition that they remove the criticial illness cover (R350 000). This I feel was so unfair as all premiums were paid and the insured persons health condition was good over all the years. Case was also submitted to Ombusdman however received no feedback.
