Unfair decision on an old mutual policy

I want to ask. I've been paying a policy for over 20yrs which included a diabilty claim. Well, I submitted a claim for this(which I'd paid toward expecting them to do as what I'd paid for) I unexpectingly developed epilepsy last year May and wanted to claim. First they sent me forms on unemployment, incorrectly from their side - my neurologist could not complete my health issue because of this. On the board sitting on deciding they rejected my claim. We tried to tell them from word go, we were claiming for my health condition and not once for unemployment. They have since canceled that part of my policy. Has anyone also had such an experience? I'm so mad about this as, I'm sitting with a condition to which I will be getting no assistance from old mutual. WHAT was the point of paying for over 20yrs giving me peace of mind were something to happen to me Please advise.......I think I'm being cheated here on what they owe me
