By assisting my family, my Mother had taken out this policy so that we, myself and my sister, would not be burdened with the costs of the funeral, given the fact that she had no savings, i.e., cash, other than her SASSA grant. My own employment is of a blue-collar nature, a journeyman, and my sister's husband is retired, so although the benefit does not cover the entire costs of the funeral, it has made it possible for my sister and me to provide for a proper funeral to remember my mother and achieve closure.
