still waiting on refund for over a year

so about last year round about the same time,i get a call from a old mutual adviser about a educational plan for R300 a month and i(at the time) thought it was reasonable.i took the policy and they started deducting the funds from my account until i received the policy documents and completely changed my mind as i did research and found a better plan.i then called the number that was on the card they sent with the docs and told the adviser that i wished to cancel and wanted the money they deducted to b refunded.i advised him that my bank details isn't the same as the one they have and was told to expect the funds within 3 working days.it has now been a year and nothing.if someone isn't happy with a product they have a right to cancel,that doesn't mean that the company gets to keep the money!!
