Still living in the stone age? Is OLD a hint?

I am told to go to the branch to get a settlement amount on my loan. Why is that at this day and age where everything is electronic I still have to walk into a branch? I can understand if I am still applying and you have no information about me. But for goodness sake I am trying to settle a loan. Do you prefer it that I stop paying the loan altogether because of inconvenience? All I need is a settlement quote sent to my email so that I may pay off the outstanding amount on my loan. Is that too much to ask?
