Old Mutual is hands down the most abusive, careless and exhausting financial services provider we have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. They are not transparent. They are not accountable. They have absolutely no sense of urgency. What they do have is arrogance, silence, and a shocking disregard for the people whose money they hold.

They will run you from pillar to post, send you in circles, and leave you stranded in limbo with no answers, no timelines, and no ownership. Calls are not returned. Emails disappear into a black hole. Promises mean nothing.

On the 8th of December, our mother submitted an application to withdraw funds from her portfolio. Everything was confirmed as being in order. We were clearly told the money would reflect in her account on the 22nd of December. Today, months later, not a single cent has been paid. We have been following up relentlessly, and not one person at Old Mutual has provided a straight answer.

To make matters worse, Old Mutual attempted to shift the blame to SARS. When we investigated directly with SARS, we discovered this was completely untrue. SARS confirmed that Old Mutual last communicated with them in November 2023 regarding her portfolio. We confronted Old Mutual with this information. Since then, we have been met with total silence. No explanations. No accountability. No shame.

This is not just incompetence. This is people’s lives they are playing with.

Our mother withdrew this money to fund her nephew’s studies. He has been accepted to study electrical engineering. Instead of preparing for his future, he is sitting at home because Old Mutual is withholding money without any reason, justification, or explanation. Dreams are on pause because of their negligence and arrogance.

We are exhausted by their attitude. Tired of being dismissed. Tired of being **** to. Tired of dealing with a company that treats its clients with such blatant disrespect.

If you value your money, your time, and your peace of mind, stay away from Old Mutual. Do not trust them with your future. Do not give them control over your finances. Think twice. Actually, do not even look at them once.

This company is unreliable, uncaring, and dangerous to deal with.
