Slow turnaround times on personal loans

I am in process of applying for a personal loan with old mutual. It is very long and tedious even though they state that it takes between 24 and 48 hours. It's a week later now. I did not apply at my own leisure it is actually quite an emergency. I will continue being patient though as all the agents and administration workers I have spoken to and who have assisted me have honestly been amazing at their jobs, right now the only redeeming quality that is preventing me from going to Capitec instead and having my loan approved and paid out in 24 hours..
