Shocked with Old Mutual
I have just come back from Pretoria CBD where I visited one Old Mutual branch close to corner Pretorius and Lillian Ngoyi Streets. I made a visit because I intended to update my Life Policy details with them, something which I do at the start of each year, and especially because I have just moved to Pretoria. I am still shocked and traumatized because their system could not pick any policy in my name.
Shocked because their system could not pick any policy in my name despite a monthly debit order of R921 which they pull out from bank account every month- the last date in my statement was 28 December
Traumatized because I am asking what would have happened to my family, especially my two daughters if anything happened to me before I discovered that I their system does not show my policy where I listed them as beneficiaries?
Despite my discomfort in being out in crowded places during this COVID-19 period, I endured a harrowing 1hour at this branch moving from one teller to the other with no success. All that the two ladies there could do was make me sit on a transferred phone call being directed from one call Centre to another, i found this very disgusting - if a branch can not assist me then who else will do?
Tommorrow morning I am going to another branch in Montana and I have a Bank Statement (proof of debit orders), Policy number and ID numbers and someone out there should give me the details of my Green Light Policy or confirm with me that Old Mutual has become a ****.
Folks, if you have any policy with Old mutual just make sure everything is in order, otherwise it looks like we are in for a shock.
