Shifting the blame

I wrote a letter to Old Mutual requesting for the cancellation/removal of the Premium Protection Benefits and Physical Impairment Benefit on my Green light policy. Cancellation or removal was done on other things that I did not request to be removed which are Death Benefit, Finance Expenses Benefit and Severe Illness Benefit. When I enquire about this I was told it is the way my letter was structured whereas it is clearly stating what I wanted to be canceled so the fault was on my side. If my letter was not clear Old Mutual could have contacted me for clarity. Why should I take the blame for their mistake. It's pathetic.

I was also informed to resolve I have to revive the policy which I will only be covered when old mutual receives my first premium at the moment I am not covered. I've been with Old Mutual since 2009. I think this is not fair towards me.
