Provident fund payout

Beginning of the year I left the company I worked for and opted to have my provident fund paid out. On 16 Feb I received a sms from OM confirming receipt of my benefits claim Ref S000302D and B402113B. I then followed up with OM on numerous occasions on the progress and was told the same thing, its being processed. Beginning of March I spoke to one of the agents and he said the OM had app**** for a tax directive from SARS and I should check the following Wednesday. I called the following Wednesday and the agent I spoke to said there was no indication on the system of that having been done. Much to my extreme frustration. On 23 March I received a sms from OM saying they had sent my claim to SARS for a tax directive. This time round there was a slightly different ref number. Yesterday I called OM to follow up and was told there is no feedback and the agent said they would escalate as a directive takes only 48hrs. I was transferred to another number for the other platform only to be told the tax directive was declined by SARS as my tax number is invalid. How can my tax details be invalid when I've been using them for the past 8yrs? How?? I want OM to explain and this issue resolved.

Hello kmab,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know of the frustration you are experiencing.

I'm investigating the delay in payment and will revert to you later today.

Kind regards
