Potential identity theft

When you register on the unit trust website for secure services (almost like Internet banking) you are informed that a courier company will on behalf of Old Mutual collect a copy of your ID. The next step is that an unknown person from an unknown courier company pitches at your door to collect said copy without even issuing a receipt document. This is a big security risk as all your info, including your signature, appears on the new ID cards, Also, this system is not logical as Old Mutual already have your ID on file and the person from the courier company cannot identify you as he wants only a copy and is not interested in looking at the original ID.
