POLICY PAYOUT WITHHELD

My uncle had a Comprehensive + Family Funeral Plan (XIZ) effective from 01/02/2012 and an Empowerment MultiPlan (MEJ) effective from 01/05/1993. He umfortunately passed on Friday, 21/02/2020. He had not elected a beneficiary to date of his passing. He had a Son who is now 16 years old. We have visited the OLD Mutual offices in Pretoria CBD and Temba (Hammanskraal) to try and claim for his Funeral with no joy. At first we were advised to go to Court to get a letter of authority to execute the claim. We have failed to get such a letter because his son is still a minor and we are required to get a letter from the social worker and we were told that the report will take months. We have went to Old Mutual in Temba (Hammanskraal) to plead that the funds be made available as we are to lay him to rest this Saturday, 29/02/2020. We were declined. We are now facing a challenge as a family because the Funeral Parlour will net release his body for burial due to outstanding balance. We are in a serious predicament and hope that we can get immediate intervention so we may lay him to rest. We are only left with a few hours to try and get this matter resolved. Kindly assist
