Policy lapsed

I had a policy for my grandmother for more then 10 year's paying it since covid hit I have been trying to pay it but I failed since I lost my job so my policy lapsed since I have been trying to reactivate it but they refusing and I was not informed that my policy lapsed only wen I tried to pay it..
