policy documents still not received after a year

good day<br> <br> please assist, i opened a policy for my kids in April 2015, i was told that i will receive my policy documents before the first debit order goes off, i have been very patient in waiting for the documents, and i have not received them, old mutual is deducting the premiums for the past year and there is no moth where i skipped of failed to make a payment, i just need to to know is it ethical for me to pay for over a year a policy without getting any policy documents?
