Please assist

I am highly frustrated with old mutual regarding my life policy....I visited old mutual offices in Pinelands before my 55th birthday in January 2018. They could not assist me. I then phoned the office and they could actually trace my policy in their archives. Mr..... assisted me and he stated that my policy had lapsed. I took the news and wasn't bothered, until I communicated with my ex colleagues that has also been in the same policy, they haven't paid anything on their policy and they were kept up to date regarding their policy. My ex colleagues are during a monthly pension from their policy and encouraged me to query why my policy had lapsed. I can not understand how we worked for the same company and all had the same policy but I can't receive any pension because mine was the only one that lapsed.
