Pension/Provident fund transfers not being attended to in time

My wife was working for a well known mining company. She was at first working under head office budget then the employment conditions changed. With this changes Old Mutual started a new policy for her.

Every time she asks for an update on her policies they send her 4 different policies. After numerous conversations with them they still did not merge these policies in 3 years.

My wife was unfortunate to be retrenched this year and 31 July was her last working day for her company who she served for more than 10 years. Since then Old Mutual was working on her payment. She finally received payment on 30 September 2017. Only problem is that they only paid out 1 part of her policies although all of the policies fall under 1 scheme number. Conveniently they paid out the policies worth 2 years and forgot to pay the policies worth 8 years.

For such a policy to pay out takes 20 working days according to Old Mutual call center. We are now at 60+ days and still not received her money. She cannot plan and is bothered by banks to pay outstanding debts. After speaking to the Old Mutual consultants new promises are made and my wife then makes new arrangements to pay her debts, where after she gets disappointed again.

The question in my mind is: How can a person entrust your money with a company that cant deliver? Why does it take 3 years to merge policies? For how long must this lady suffer the consequence of these *********** people? What happens to the interest on these funds outstanding?

Every time we call them we hold on for 20 min before being attended to. I am disgusted by the care they show to their clients and their professionalism.

We today called Old Mutual again. They cant give us any feedback on progress, we must call every week to check on it ourselves. This is a JOKE
