ONCE YOU ARE DECEASED, OLD MUTUAL WILL NOT CONSIDER YOUR FAMILY'S BASIC NEEDS
I am disappointed in the way the OM Superfund Death claim is being handled. My husband passed away last year in September 2022, the claim was submitted on the 3rd of October 2022. I have been following up on the claim ever since, and all I get is that the claim was submitted to investigations. I understand that there is a process in place but, is that money not supposed to take care of the family when the member is no more? My husband left 3 kids, a 10 year old, 7 year and now 1 year old baby who is still taking formula and needs some nappies and I cannot afford most of the kids' needs because my husband was the main provider. What does a family need to do in order to get the claim to be processed? I have been following up and writing emails but I still get that the claim is still under investigation.... nothing more, nothing less. And I am not given a straight time frame for waiting. The late left a bond loan which I cannot afford and I wrote to Old Mutual requesting an advance to help pay the instalments until the claim is finalised but there is still no answer. What should I do in this case? My kids are at risk of losing the shelter while OM holding the finances of the late. I am in tears right now, this is really painful
