OLM MUTUAL LIFE INSURANCE - A PICTURE OF A DECLINING COMPANY
LIFE INSURANCE division - policy servicing. It's absolutely shocking that a customer of 20 years should be subjected to the uniformly low levels of service that I have experienced from this (once-leading) company this past year. And it seems they are happy to discriminate against senior clients - AGISM is what this is. So this is my second complaint on the same matter via Hello Peter. The next complaint will be to the regulator should no progress be made. I refer in particular to the Old Mutual client service desk apparent complete inability to read emails sent to them in their designated way, then make informed decisions based on their understanding of what the client has stated. This year I experienced financial difficulties affecting my ability to pay the premium. I sent no less than 4 emails on this topic, including one formal letter dated 5 August 2024, of which one alone was properly rep**** to, and then the sender completely ignored the fact I was asking for advice. After this saga they went ahead and cancelled my life policy.
Since then there have been a string of emails sent from my side addressing this issue, which took that dinosaur company over 10 days or more in each instance to reply.
And yes, I escalated the matter and "PFComplaints" took it on. They were equally useless. I had also suggested that someone call me by setting a date and a time for a cellphone (or Teams) discussion. That was ignored.
Finally, we made a minor breakthough, but then a report they requested referenced I presume to be a printed form for me to complete regarding my health. I rep**** to that asking that this form be emailed to me. NOTHING, nada reply, apart from the system acknowledgement Now I am getting SMS messages demanding I submit the missing document, which I have no access to and which 10 days ago I already asked for.
I am forced to conclude that, in the absence of a company-wide breakdown in administration at the OLM MUTUAL, this is an example of AGISM - ************** at people older than 60 years. They cynically KNOW that I am uninsurable anywhere else due to my age. So they discard me as a client, presumably with a degree of relief at lowering their risk. SHOCKING - Yes,
This is a very sad reflection on a one-time giant life insurer which is apparently in a rapid decline.
