Old Mutual where they rob and cheat you with a straight smiling face

Hi there, so after 6(six) long years I have discovered that I was actually ****** from Old Mutual. Firstly I took out a life insurance policy, and had my mom and dad on the policy and as you know, they said for immediate family there is immediate cover after the first payment,debit order or installment however you want to call it. Secondly There I was excited to have it as they convinced me to take out a savings or investment account as well witch I did and (still have all the paper work,documents to prove it). So a year later my mom passed and i put in the policy claim and guess what i was told that the policy is not old enough to cover the payout of my mom's cover and there after I went and showed them my contract and they said they will get back to me but never did in that period of the burial of my mother. After a few days I went to the Old Mutual branch and yet again they promised to look into it and never did and as you know we have a lot of things to do and was not able to follow up constantly. So eventually I stopped following up on it and they never even gave me a call or a text msg nor an email or a mail. So I just left everything as at the moment i did not know what to or how to get help. Then a year after that I decided to go and cash in on my saving/investment and guess what there is no funds available in my savings/investment so what do I do next with all the frustration first the policy then the savings how is it even possible and after I went to inquire about it they told me that I have saving but the next month again they send me a notification to remind me about there debit order that there should be available funds for the debit order so i could not understand how they could tell me that. So after all the running around I went back to Old Mutual again and asked what I can do in my situation they said that they will look into it and get back to me, up until yesterday when I met someone who went through the same thing that I went through That told me what I should do and I need to contact my lawyer for it as I was ****** from Old Mutual. Please I just need a second opinion about this I need to know what the next best step is in my situation some people say it is long ago but after speaking to legal help and explained my situation he said that the time frame does not matter what matter is , if the paper work/documents is in order and yes it is .
